We have adopted the European Baltic Region, as defined, as our area of operation because the environment of the countries in the region generates similar risks and the hundreds of years of shared history of these countries better defines the community of interests.
The areas in which we see an opportunity to fulfil our mission are:

• transport, logistics, communication
• water resources and quality for the needs of the economy and population
• distributed energy production and distribution
• supporting the implementation of civil defence systems across the entire scope of its statutory mission
• promoting awareness of hazards among children and young people
• promoting and supporting the production and implementation of dual-use devices
• implementing and promoting innovative solutions in the field of health care techniques and organisation
